The Catera by Stetson is a high quality rabbit fur felt hat included in the Stetson Gun Club Collection. Gun Club hats can be used for outdoor activities but they also look great when used for business or dress occasions. The Catera has a tear-drop crown with a pinch and it has a 3 1/4" brim which slants down in the front and back. The hat has a full satin lining, leather hat band, and a leather interior sweatband.
I bought this as a replacement for one that I got dirty, tried to clean, and made worse. It’s really not that bad, on the underside of the brim. Anyway I wanted one that I didn’t screw up.
When I realized that they discontinued this hat on Stetsons website, I was glad to find one here for less than any others still being advertised for sale.
It did not come in the fancy Stetson box that my original one came with, but I had that saved in the top of my closet. My new hat is resting in it now as a backup.
This hat is a little better example than the one I stained. The printed lining in the crown is square with the hat. In my old one it was slightly askew. I nitpick I guess, I’m a detail guy.
So excellent hat, great value!
Now I can stop beating myself up for staining my favorite hat.
